Becker Tree Farm is committed to establishing a fibrous root system on all products that can adapt quickly when transplanted into the urban landscape environment. All trees are grown in "Air Root Pruning" containers from the very beginning of their production cycle to ensure the absence of circling roots.

The science behind "Air Root Pruning"

As a new lateral root comes in contact with the porous container wall, the air in the soil dehydrates the root tip, pruning it and stimulating root branching back to the tree's original stem. As each new root finds its way to the container wall, the process is repeated and the tree rapidly develops a massive outward pointing (non-circling) fibrous root system.
